An Apartment Doesn't Mean it's Short on Style

June 1, 2017

Living in a small apartment is not for everyone. They are of the perspective that since there is not much space, it becomes difficult to integrate interior designing and decorations. However, if you know how to decorate and design your small apartment, then you are all set to nail it. Many of the owners often focus on the functionality aspect when decorating tiny and small apartments, while the design aspect takes a back seat. You should know, a small apartment does not mean being short on style!

When living in a small apartment, you know every inch of space is considered. It needs your attention, especially when designing one. One of the best ways to save space is by investing in dual purpose furniture. As the name suggests it is designed to be used for dual purpose. You can invest in a sofa bed instead of a traditional one to get more space for other items. Other than this, you can even consider leather beds with storage solutions. You can use the same to store items like blankets, throws and more.

It is easily understood that a small apartment might look messy if you do not separate the areas the right way. This majorly happens when it lacks definition. This is one of the major reason why defining the space into separate areas is of paramount importance. Adding a wall is not an option, but can separate it by positioning items the right way. When defining an entryway, you can place show and coat racks as it offers a great impression. When defining a kitchen area, you can just position a buffet in between. Other than this, you can even have glass walls which offer a view of the other world.

When talking about luxury interior design ideas and tips, you are advised to consider light color palettes that further helps in enlivening the room. You should know dark colors have their own way of making space look smaller, visually. However, light colors and hues work their magic by making the room look bigger.

Storage is one of the major concern when living in a small apartment. However, walls in any room can take the best care of this aspect. It is one of the best interior designs to get rid of clutter and make the room spacious. You need to think both vertically and horizontally. You can consider having bookcases on both the sides of the doorway. Another way is by having a floor to ceiling entertainment center which also serves as a great divide between living and sleeping area.
