Talavera Plates by Tomas Huerta

Is there anything finer than serving your loved ones a beautiful meal on an authentic Talavera Plate? Authentic Talavera makes a wonderful addition to any home whether used for dining or as a decorative accent. Talavera plates by the renowned Tomas Huerta ceramic studio will provide you with a combination of beauty and function.
If you aren't familiar with Talavera, here's a little bit of background for you. Talavera was introduced to Mexico by Spanish guild artisans of the Colonial period. Known as "majolica" in Spain, Mexican Talavera draws its name from the 16th century Spanish pottery center, Talavera de la Reina, where imagination and persistence led to enormous strides in the world's knowledge of fine ceramics. Thus, while the intricate polychrome and more typical blue and white designs portray their old world legacy, the indigenous floral and celestial motifs featured in our store claim the ceramics as classically Mexican.
With over 100 unique designs in this expansive Talavera collection, you're sure to find one that fits your taste. Each Talavera Plate design is painted by hand in Puebla, Mexico, and is 100% lead free; chip and crack resistant; as well as microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe! There is even an eyelet on the back of each plate for easy wall hanging, making a Talavera plate an excellent gift idea, too.
You'll find that authentic Talavera makes a vibrant and cultural addition to any room in your home. The detail is outstanding, and due to the kiln's high firing temperature all our Talavera Dishware is crack and chip resistant for years of use.
Due to the handmade nature of Talavera pottery, the colors and designs may vary slightly, but we just think it adds to the uniqueness of the pieces. La Fuente is proud to maintain a large selection of various sized plates in stock, which means quick shipping directly to your doorstep!
