Sugar skulls are a traditional folk art from Mexico used in Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations. Part of the festive decorations, the sugar skulls are painted with brightly colored icing and can even be decorated with sequins, glitters and colored foils. Detailed instructions for creating your sugar skulls are included with every order. We also strongly recommend ordering the 'Sugar Skulls Decorating Kit' (below), which includes an 8-ounce jar of Meringue powder for hardening the molds and making the icing, an assortment of 6 concentrated food color pastes, and 10 icing bags + zip ties for easily making perfect sugar skulls.
