Jesus Guerrero Santos
Jesus Guerrero Santos is a Mexican national treasure. His enormous talent in the field of fine ceramics has led to his repeated selection as the creator of honorary gifts for visiting dignitaries including Pope John Paul II on both of his trips to Mexico, and in the fall of 2002 he presented commemorative gifts to all heads of state attending the Pacific Rim Conference in Baja, California. This included the prime ministers of Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Russia, and the United States among 15 others. Presently his artwork is displayed in numerous national museums around the globe, as well as the Vatican, and even on the main altar of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
Carlos Munoz and Albert Ickenroth
Welcome to a world of fantasy, imagination, humor and color...all combined in these delightfully whimsical ceramic figures by Carlos Munoz and Albert Ickenroth. Albert is a native Dutchman, where he studied art and culture as a youth, became enamored of the great masters, and ultimately discovered his talent for working in paper mache, bronze and copper. In the mid-1970’s he vacationed in Mexico and was fascinated by the people, culture, colors and wildlife. He returned on a more permanent basis and met Carlos Munoz, a native Mexican who also studied art. The two began working together as the Carlos-Albert team in 1990, creating life-size and larger animals in porcelain as well as paper mache.
