Gorky Gonzalez was born in Morelia, Mexico, in 1939. He was a student of the arts, and in the early 1960s his primary interest became the resurrection of traditional Colonial Majolica, a double-glaze pottery technique made popular in Italy and favored during Spanish colonialism.

For decoration purposes there is an eyelet on the back of every plate for hanging on a wall.

Both Talavera plates were beautiful and exactly as pictured on the web. The packing was very good and both plates arrived perfectly. I have ordered several item's throughout the years and have never been dissapointed.
