How to Declutter Your Room’s 3 Hotspots
October 16, 2019
There is always that one room in the house that is a clutter hub. It can have piles of clothes, unopened mail, shoes scattered around, and stacks of paperwork or old books. However, that should not be the case. A bedroom should be one’s special retreat that offers nothing, but comfort and relaxation.
There are 3 main areas where clutter piles up the most. They are the following: the dresser top, the closet and under the bed.
Dresser Top
A dresser is one of the main things in every bedroom. The bed is the focal point of a room and the dresser comes in second. Use a dresser to add visual appeal to your room by organizing everything properly.
The key is to create the right balance for the things on top. Keep the larger items at the back and the smaller ones in the front. Keep the jewelry box or vanity on the side of the dresser. Place perfume bottles in the center and use a pretty little tray for small toiletries.
Under Your Bed
People usually ignore what’s underneath the bed and before they know it, clutter accumulates there and it becomes a breeding ground for pesky bugs.
The best approach is to use storage boxes underneath so that everything you have remains in order and doesn’t catch any dust. Alternately, you can use a chest if you don’t have any space under the bed.
The Closet
Many closets are actually like black holes, where clothes, shoes, and other accessories are buried to depths that don’t have an end.
An easy way to prevent this from happening is to donate items you no longer need or use. Throw away torn or out of fashion items. Use shoe organizers that hang in the closet if you don’t have any shelves for them. Also, limit your closet to only clothing, shoes, and accessories. Avoid keeping anything else in there.
