How and Where to Keep Books in Your House
December 30, 2019
Are you someone that just loves books and have stacks of them lying around the house? Do you have a bookshelf yet your books are just oozing out and you have no choice but to keep them in cartons and store them away in the attic or basement?
Books are sentimental items that can be hard to let go of. Here are some tips on how you can keep your books and display them stylishly in your home without having to store them away in boxes:
Extra Bookshelf
If your bookshelves are already full, then placing an extra narrow bookshelf in a nook or corner against the wall is a good idea. If you don’t have any bookshelves to begin with and hardly any space, then these bookshelves are your best bet.

Under Benches
Benches might be just for sitting but you can use the extra storage space beneath them and stack your books vertically underneath it. It will give a great aesthetic look to the bench as well.
On Top of Cupboards
If you don’t have cupboards that are stretching up to the ceiling then placing your books, especially the big ones, such as encyclopedias or book sets, look good on top and in full view.
Between Staircases
If your staircase is the kind that has a gap between each stair then you can stack the books in those spaces. It will give the appearance that you have books everywhere whilst giving off a neat and tidy appearance.
Mini Shelves
There is a new trend for placing books on the wall by creating mini shelves. These are just small slabs in the wall and you can keep up to 8-10 books on each shelf.
