Storage Furniture Options for Your Organizational Needs
April 2, 2019
Did you ever think to purchase furniture pieces that doubled as storage spaces? With houses and apartments seemingly getting smaller and much more expensive, doubling up on what your furniture can do for you doesn't seem like such a bad idea. With beautiful furniture performing double duty as extra storage space, hiding your personal effects in plain sight is a luxury worth considering.
Most living room chairs usually have a matching ottoman to go with it; what's even better is if the ottoman provides space for books, magazines and even DVDs and CDs. Highly convenient and quite comfortable, storage-type ottomans are sturdy enough to put your feet up on and work well as an extra place to sit for your guests. If you're not a fan of extra furniture lying around your living room, you can always opt for something much simpler, such as an open top piano-style bench. Perfect for storing your linens, blankets, even your child's toys, storage benches are a creative convenience that can easily be pushed up against the walls of your hallway or den, or even at the foot of your bed.
Coffee tables are another option to consider if you're running low on space. With many coffee tables featuring extra drawers and shelf space, magazines, bills, notepads and family albums can be kept out of sight. End tables or nightstands also provide extra room for storage, though not as much as a storage ottoman or coffee table. However, these tables are ideal for keeping knick-knacks and other small items out of the way. Nightstands are especially ideal for keeping important documents and address books by your bedside.
With a variety of storage conveniences, one should consider taking advantage of these multifunctional furniture options. Space will always be an issue, but at least you can try to handle the problem in the beginning before you end up with an organizational mess.
