Big Impact with Small Decorative Items
January 14, 2019
It’s amazing how small decorative home accessories can make a huge impact in a room. Interior designers know the influence that rugs, lighting, throw pillows, art, and other accessories can have in a space when we know how to use them wisely.
Unfortunately, accessories and small home decor can also, figuratively, break a space. Decorative items are the most inexpensive way to freshen or add a new look to a room, but because they are so easily had, if a decorator is not careful these items can quickly overtake the home and make the space look cluttered.
Mass produced items are inexpensive and readily available, but is that really what you want to fill your home, and life, with? When it comes to home accessories, less is often more. One specially chosen, unique piece may work better in your space than loads of tiny nick knacks that have no value beyond price.
If you prefer tiny home accents, then place them all together in one space and showcase them as one theme. It will look less cluttered than if you have them spread out all over the place. For instance, our small folk art figurines, that start at under $20 and are made in Mexico, look fantastic when displayed all together on a shelf, glass display box or tabletop.
Ceramic Chile Ristras are designed by artisans in Mexico to perfectly replicate the look of specific chiles. Every individual chile is molded, glazed and fired at high temp, then arranged on jute twine into the unmistakable shape of strung chili peppers. No more replacing your chili ristras every season; now you can display durable ceramic ristras that look perfect year-round! These are a wonderful small accessory which produces big impact wherever it’s displayed!
